What Say You?

Will the Economy Improve in the Future?

About a third of voters wanted Mr. Trump to be President because they expect him to improve the economy. To know if that happens we must first have an idea of today's economy.

Around a hundred Sauk County jobs were created by the Infrastructure Act. Over $14 million in federal broad band grants to Reedsburg Utility supported jobs and caused Teel Plastics to produce more plastic conduit for rural internet. Wisconsin's internet buildout received over $1 billion.

Hundreds of rental units are being built in Baraboo, supporting many jobs.

Recently the price of gas dropped 20¢ a gallon.

Elsewhere, the Bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act is helping five computer chip makers build plants in the U.S. That plus clean energy investments total $735 billion. There were 12.9 million total manufacturing jobs as of 2023.

More workers are forming and joining unions, therefore getting better wages and retirement agreements.

Sixteen million new jobs were created over the past 3+ years. Real wages have risen 4% in the last year, largely going to lower earners. Unemployment is 4.1%. This great economy increased the solvency of Social Security by a year.

Will we see such great improvements in the economy in future years?
