Meet Our Opponent, Maria Lazar

Chris has spent her career standing up for Wisconsinites by protecting their rights and freedoms -- and that's exactly what she'll do on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. As an attorney, former legislator, and now as a judge, Chris has always believed the law is a powerful tool for protecting people and making our state better. She has a clear record of defending access to healthcare, standing up for workers, and standing up for the rights of all Wisconsinites.

The choice in this race is clear. Our opponent, Maria Lazar, is a right-wing extremist who believes the law should be used to take rights and freedoms away. She would be the most extreme member of the court and be a rubber stamp for right-wing billionaires and special interests.

• Maria Lazar Has Fought To Restrict Reproductive Rights: Just recently, Maria Lazar reaffirmed her support for restrictions on abortion by calling the decision to repeal Roe v. Wade "very wise." In fact, her record is so extreme that she was previously endorsed by a group that opposes access to abortion in every circumstance with no exceptions-including when a woman's life and health are endangered. That's not someone we can trust to make fair decisions on the state Supreme Court.
• Maria Lazar Is A Threat To Our Democracy: She has embraced support from the same people who tried to overturn the 2020 election and even ruled in favor of giving them access to protected legal information and voting data, defended Republican-drawn legislative maps, and wants to make it tougher for Wisconsinites to vote. She will not protect our democracy on the Court.
• Maria Lazar Is A Rubber Stamp For The Right Wing: Maria Lazar has spent her career as a rubber stamp for right-wing special interests. As Scott Walker's lawyer, she defended some of his most egregious attacks on Wisconsinites. Now, she's backed by the same right-wing billionaires who have spent millions trying to buy themselves a seat on the Court -- we can't let them be successful.
